History

ElectriCom Inc. was founded in 1960 in Paoli, Indiana by Phil Brown to provide construction services to power and communications clients. Since its inception, the company has experienced continuous growth while maintaining its focus on telecommunications and power.

The Telecommunications marketplace is much broader than it was in ElectriCom’s early years. Since divestiture took place in the mid 1980’s, the client mix has shifted to encompass privately owned companies, system based companies, competitive local providers (CLECS), intercity carriers and municipalities.

ElectriCom has expanded our locations to better meet the needs of the customer.  We are proud to say that we have done business in 39 states across the country.

Right-of-Way Services perform all manners and functions dealing with tree and vegetation clearing and maintenance.   Proper Right-of-Way management along with trimming and clearing programs helps minimize service outages to a utility’s customers. With Certified Arborists on staff, ElectriCom is on the leading edge of this important function.

The Power Division emphasizes the member-owned and municipal power markets primarily in Indiana and the Midwest, and has developed excellent long-term relationships with several of these valuable customers.  We’ve built power distribution and light transmission systems for over 50  years. We have also expanded our capabilities to include constructing substations and have the ability to bury or directional bore as the job requires.

Our Storm Team has been deployed several times over the past few years to help customers ravaged by storms of all types. Since 2009, our crew has responded to help those affected by a devastating ice storm in southern Indiana, electrical service restoral to victims of Hurricanes Rita, Irene and Sandy in various parts of the United States and a deadly tornado that struck southern Indiana in 2012.

In the fall of 2013, we expanded our services to include construction for Gas Distribution. Our Gas Division is ECI Utility Construction. Our past experiences in construction, our experienced personnel and an intensive Employee Development and Training Program have made this a natural expansion of our services.

From our earliest beginnings until today, our dedication to quality, customer service and long-term relationships has illustrated that ElectriCom does, indeed, have “all the right connections.”
