“A safe worker is a productive worker.” – Kevin Mason, President of ElectriCom

At ElectriCom we take safety issues very seriously. Our field superintendents and supervisors are charged with keeping not only our workers, but the public as well, as safe as possible from the hazards that utility construction sometimes poses. We provide them with formal training courses, such as the OSHA Ten Hour hazard recognition and avoidance course, multi-media first aid, and CPR. Tailgate and toolbox sessions are a regular part of our safety effort. Finally, ElectriCom has arranged periodic special training such as rescue of injured workers on poles and in bucket trucks. We have an ongoing drug screening program that encompasses not only our workers who hold CDL licenses, but all employees.

In an effort to provide timely training and to keep abreast of ever-changing federal and state safety regulations, ElectriCom has hired a new Safety Director, Jeff Melson, to administer our safety programs.  Watch for his articles dealing with safety in ElectriComments, our customer newsletter, and here on our website.  Jeff’s association with ElectriCom is just one more demonstration of our ongoing commitment to safety.
